thanksgiving

Greetings! Over October and November, we'll delve into the fascinating topic of Thanksgiving, exploring the deeper significance of gratitude, particularly in the context of disabilities. We aim to uncover what it truly means to give thanks and how this sentiment resonates within the disability community. Join us as we reflect on the profound connections between appreciation, resilience, and the diverse experiences that shape our understanding of thankfulness.

Main Challenge (Hebraws 11-12): The challenge for October and November Plan to give thanks to god though the good, the bad,and the ordinary. I challenge you to invite god into your life once during the day and after you grow in that start increseing it to more untill you feel that god is the center of your life. He is with you every breathing monment.

Lesson 1: What is Thanksgiving?
Thanksgiving according to Colossians 2:7 rooted and built up in him and established in faith just as you were taught abounding in thanksgiving. Thoughts? Are you being thaught that thanksgiving is more than just a holiday? Do we forget that Thanksgiving has a differnt meaning in the bible.

Challenge for the lesson: What is thanksgiving is it what we know it as or is there a whole differnt purpose I challenge you to come up with a meaning for thanksgiving? leave in comments what the meaning is and the lesson number

Lesson 2: Why is thanksgiving important?
Thanksgiving is important because it is giving prise and thanks to the god alimighty. we should be doing this more. so what holds us back from giving praise and thanks to the lord. Thoughts? It is now more than ever important to stand up to our god and ask him for all things but talk to the lord like he is your friend tell him thanks and praise him stop and think about why Thanksgiving is mentioned as a study prayer for him.

challenge for the lesson: Why is thanksgiving important? I challenge you to spend 30 mins in your day just talking or praiseing the lord without getting distracted. think of all the differnt ways you could be spending this time with him. In the comments tell me how hard or easy you think this challenge is going to be.

God is not slow

In August and September, we are going to be focusing on how god is not slow. We are constantly moving at a fast pace, and we don't slow down. So we need to focus on slowing down so we can listen to what god is telling us. Above you will find our monthly verse. I want you to really pay attention to how God's timing may feel slow, but it will come before you know it.   God's timing is not slow. Have you thought that God's timing is slow? We tend to think God's timing is slow when really we lose our patience and we don't stay disciplined in constant prayer or studying his word. We make excuses to not study his word or pray. So I want you to read Romans 12:12 and think about what that verse is saying, Don't fight the truth. Your main activity for this unit is to write down how many times you deny God's timing and think he is forgetting or his timing is too slow. Are we too fast to care about patience Obey in slow timing to come to repentance.   Focus on slo...

All About me

Hello!  My name is MaddyJo Shafer, and I’m 19 years old. I live with cerebral palsy along with several other disabilities, which have shaped my perspective and my passion. My heart is dedicated to promoting accessibility in special needs ministry, especially here in Colorado. To support this vision, I founded a mission called "Disabilities Matter Because of Jesus." Through this initiative, I aim to create opportunities for both children and adults with disabilities to engage with the Bible and the teachings of Jesus more easily. Allow me to share my testimony: When I was just 9 years old, my dad sat me down for an important conversation. He helped me understand the concepts of sin and death, and how, without genuine repentance, I wouldn’t be able to live with God eternally. That day, I prayed for God’s forgiveness and made the decision to follow Him. A couple of months later, I took a significant step by getting baptized—a beautiful moment when my dad baptized me in a hotel p...
